Our Founder

John West Therapy Services is owned and directed by John D. West. Born in 1938, John West grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Baylor University as a physical therapist in 1962 and later moved to Houston where he worked at Shamrock Physical Therapy. 3 years later, he acquired the company, which is now known as John West Therapy Services.

In 1980, he moved his practice to Scurlock Tower in the medical center. During this time, he worked with a team of doctors who treated numerous professional athletes. Physical Therapy was an emerging profession in those days and John West innovated several rehabilitation treatment techniques. These treatments were much sought after by doctors in sports and orthopedic medicine as well as other physical therapy clinics.

In 2001, he moved his main clinic from Scurlock Tower to the River Oaks area where it stands today. Since then, the clinic has continued growing to serve neighborhoods all over Houston and the Greater Houston area.

In his 47-year career as a physical therapist, John West has treated many high profile athletes, movie stars, Olympians, and politicians. Having been in private practice for over 4 decades, John West is an established and highly respected professional in the medical community. His passion continues to be the treatment and care of his patients guided by a wealth of experience.
